2021 LatinFest-ICT Performances

While I love social dancing and teaching classes, I feel that I truly come alive when I perform, so when Angela Martinez (the Director of LatinFest) reached out to me about creating a dance team for a Hispanic Heritage Month festival, I jumped at the opportunity. At the time, I had recently moved back to Wichita and didn’t know very many dancers. Luckily, I met some fun people social dancing at Enigma (now closed), Barleycorn’s, Vorshay’s, and Sway Ballroom, who were eager to perform with me.

The first routine I choreographed for LatinFest-ICT was a ladies Salsa routine to the song “La Adrenalina” by Otra Nota with dancers Elisa, Jenny, Mirta, Ereymi, Arely, and Juliana.

The second routine I choreographed, along with the help of my fiancé Miguel, was a couple’s Bachata routine to the song “Canalla” by Romeo Santos with dancers Elisa, Miguel, Jenny, Josue, Megan, Luis, Derly, and Cici.

My fiancé’s younger sister Mirta also choreographed and performed an amazing Bomba routine to the song “Meli Ton Ton Bé”.
